100 Word Challenge – Uncomfortable – 07/20/2010

What you’ve all been waiting for. True fans have been waiting months (sorry, hoping to get back into the swing of things :-D). My latest entry for Velvet Verbosity’s 100 Word Challenge. This time around the word is “Uncomfortable.” Thanks to the wonderful Lou for hosting—you rock, man!

Sheila rolled uncomfortably from her left side to her right. She held her belly, more uncomfortable than she had ever been before in her life. She hadn’t been able to sleep all night, and she hadn’t really been able to put a finger on why until now.

Sheila sat up and shook her husband.

“Phillip,” she hissed in a nauseated whisper, “Phillip, wake up. Something’s wrong.”

Groggily Phillip sat up, rubbing his eyes. “What? What’s wrong?”

“Phillip, I think something’s wrong with the baby.”

Phillip’s stomach began to churn, and he shot out of bed.

“Off to the hospital?”

    1. THIS is totally fiction. I encourage you to click the Clifton Saga tab at the top of the page, this is a continuation of the story—it’s a bit flashbackie (I know there’s a term for it, I just forget, which is sad due to my English degree…), but I love it’s flow, especially how it flows from me 😀
