Breakfast
Who was your childhood hero?

My mom. She still is.

Lunch
In your opinion what is the world’s greatest invention so far?

The written word. What can I say? I’m an English Major at heart 😀 Or just language and communication. If all other things were taken away—all our modern conveniences, all the images and things thrown at us constantly, any weapons, clothing, houses, luxuries, all that—if it were all taken away, all we’d be left with is communication. And writing it out is amazing. I think, more than anything else, the ability for us to communicate and go beyond primates in our communication (though all animals have some form of communication, and have managed to find ways to communicate far beyond what we could ever understand)is amazing. Otherwise, we’d all be drooling fools, and none of those modern conveniences would even be possible! I’ve thought about it before, and it’s one of the most amazing things to me. The size of (God, and) infinity being the other.

Dinner
What time do you typically get up in the morning and what time do you usually go to bed?

Both are much too late, most of the time…but, I tend to get up between 8 and 9:30am, usually woke up by the little guy (but I intend to start getting up before him again, because I enjoy my time with Him.) And I usually go to bed after 11pm. Too often, much later.

Midnight Snack
What was your last thought?

Of Him 😀

Recipe for the Week (instead of your recipe for life, what is it just for this week?)

Still just holding on to His hand. It’s the only thing that works! I’m starting to toddle with my hand around just a finger, though, not so much my whole hand in His anymore. I’m still wrapped around Him, but it’s more “I’m happy and ready to breathe” than “Take care of me and keep away my fears.”

1. I’m a writer, I’m a mom, I‘m reminded now of a poem we wrote in my high school poetry class senior year, a form I’ve been wanting to write from for a while….

2. Why do I have such a great guy and not a complete louse? Just blessed I guess!

3. How does this love thing work, anyway?

4. Every morning, I put my glasses back on my face (hubby’s just learning—and already looks odd without them!).

5. I consider myself lucky because (have a list for you:)
I have my Savior who gave me:

a great guy….
great kids…
great parents…
decent health…
a roof over my head…
food on the table…
clothes on my back…
something to look forward to…
a chance at a new life…

6. One day we’ll see Jesus. And my grandma, grandpa (both on my mom’s side), my friend Aimee, and all the people we lost, again.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to dropping my daughter off for a Girl Scout overnight (several nights, actually), tomorrow my plans include spending time with my guys (mostly the little one) and Sunday, I want to go to church, like usual!

To play, go here.

I love what you wrote about the written word! That is profound!!! I have never thought about it that way. I love it! I also love that your Mom is your hero! That is so cool!
